 Atlanta Women's Polo Team

Atlanta Women’s Polo Team was established in 2023. Our mission is to organize, financially support, and field teams that include Atlanta’s women polo players in official USPA and exhibition competitions. While doing so, we hope to expose the amazing sport of polo to more of the metro ATL community.

Meet the team!

Maddie Grant Polo USPA

Maddie Grant is one of the top female polo players internationally. Currently holding a 6-goal handicap, she is accelerating quickly toward the elite 10-goal status. Maddie is amongst the most winningest USPA Interscholastic (Maryland Polo) and Intercollegiate (Univ. of Virginia) players of all time, with 5 National Championship victories. Maddie is leading the way, showing that women can become full-time professional polo players as a career. She is currently the Polo Manager at the thriving Roseland Polo Club in Crozet, VA, and actively travels globally, paid as a professional competing in the highest-level polo. Her skill sets have no boundaries, but she is best known for her knowledge of the game and leadership on the field. Maddie is surrounded by talented polo-playing siblings who push each other to the next level.

Alicia Harden Polo USPA Pinky Barbie Harden-up

Alicia Harden is an influential force for polo in Atlanta, having been at the heart of organizing events for over a decade at Chukkar Farm in Canton, GA, introducing the sport of polo to many new players and spectators. Alicia is an IT professional who gave up competitive fitness to focus on polo to marry her love for horses and her desire for adrenaline. Alicia developed a smart, well-rounded game while playing for Colorado State University’s USPA Intercollegiate team. Her physical strength differentiates her on the field, where her power helped propel her teams to many victories, from Maimi Beach World Cup to USA vs. Sweden exhibition matches. Alicia’s most coveted achievement in polo was being recognized for her commitment to equine welfare from the USPA, earning the Clint Nagle Award.

Kimberly von Stade was exposed to polo in England, not as a player, but as a groom for men players, most notably Prince Charles (now King Charles). Kim has experienced the full spectrum of women being blocked from the sport of polo to nowadays enjoying the explosion of women in polo. Recently, Kim, as well as her teammate Alicia, played in the Pebble Hill Plantation Polo Classic, dedicated to celebrating “Pansy” Po, a female polo player that disguised herself as a man to play polo, paving the way for generations to come. Kimberly has played competitive polo at a high level in recent years, mainly in Ocala, FL, and Aiken, SC. She is known for her fantastic riding, horsemanship, and fiery competitive drive.

Noa USPA Polo

Noa C.S. hit the polo scene running at a very young age, benefiting from mentors who helped her transition from horse jumping. Noa has participated in many women’s tournaments and USPA’s mixed-gender National Youth Tournament Series events. During portions of the year, she commutes weekly from Atlanta, GA, to Aiken, SC, to join her Aiken Youth Polo teammates. While her initial goals in polo centered around leveraging her advanced riding skills to try to become one of the best defensive players, she has developed a knack for scoring around the goal, working the ball from all angles. Playing with Maddie, Alicia, and Kimberly in the Aiken Fall Women’s Challenge is an excellent opportunity for Noa to improve her situational awareness and team play.
